Emery’s Playhouse is a retail shop on Grand Ave that primarily caters to that infant to preschool age. They sell boutique clothes, toys, party stuff and all of those cute little widgets.
They also have a play room. It’s something akin to Rebe’s Play Cafe, except rather than a coffee shop, it’s a retail store. So it’s a bit of a different vibe, and the play space isn’t as large, but it’s still worth checking out.

The play area is a single room, with a good collection of toys. Because it doesn’t get used as extensively as Rebe’s, the space is generally more organized and less busy. You might spend a weekday afternoon here and only have one other person come into the play area– more typically you’ll see a parent or grandparent pop into the retail area of the store and then leave. I’m not sure what weekends are like.
It is not a coffee shop, but it does have a small fridge of some snacks and drinks, and a Keurig for coffee. There is no time limit, or even expectation that you make a purchase in the store though obviously that is what keeps them in business. If you like the area, they also host birthday parties for something like $350 (according to their website today).
